rm goodness

You will never regret being careful when you use the ‘rm’ command…

I just found a blog post of another writer who (appears) to also be into sysadmin w/ Linux. I enjoyed reading how he makes sure what he is doing with the command ‘rm’ before pressing enter. This is the same kind of arpsa philosophy that I learned from my friend-mentor in Linux back in the day. He always said, “Padawan, before you press enter, step away from the keyboard. Consider the ramifications of ‘rm’ and pause in wonder at what you *could* do if careless….”

I couldn’t agree anymore! GUI sucks at this, we lazily click around and lose more than we think of. Of course, a rm -rf does more though…
